FAIrey swordfish£65A stylised silhouette of the Fairey Swordfish – a biplane dating from the 1930s and extensively used by the RAF and Fleet Air Arm in the Second World War.
This original work is a collage created from digitally-manipulated fragments of drawings I have made of historic aircraft engines, embellished with metallic ink and little gems. The design is sealed it with a water-based transparent glue to keep everything firmly in place. The background is painted black; I used heavy-body acrylic applied with a palette knife to add interest and extra texture. Height: 23 cm Width: 30.5 cm Depth: 1.5 cm |
