The author Norah C James has pretty much been forgotten now, but in 1929 she was front-page news when her first novel, Sleeveless Errand, was banned under the Obscene Publications Act. Norah was my grandfather’s first cousin – and I don’t know about you, but I think it’s pretty damn cool to be related to someone who wrote a banned book! So I’ve devised this talk (including a couple of songs) about her life and work, which I’ll be giving to the friends of Weymouth Library at 10.30 am on Saturday 3rd December.
